DESY and REACH Join Forces to Strengthen Entrepreneurship Education

The DESY Start-up Office and the REACH-EUREGIO Start-up Center agreed to collaborate for mutual benefits within the start-up ecosystem. The collaboration will offer expanded entrepreneurship education with flexible digital formats to DESY’s future sciencepreneurs. Furthermore, it will enable a port to establish contacts between the DESY experts and REACH teams, in an international start-up community with mutual benefits.

Aiming to improve the start-up support in both institutions, the REACH online-pre-incubator has been opened to the DESY Start-up Office and their supervised teams since the 18th of September, 2023. The pre-incubator offers a variety of videos, workshops, articles, and quizzes, concerning topics as Entrepreneurship Foundations, Business Model Canvas, New Venture Financing, among others. The online materials will be available 24/7 for those considering to launch their own start-ups. This way, the DESY employees who often balance their start-up aspirations alongside their scientific roles, will be able to develop their business ideas at their own pace. In return, the DESY Start-up Office and their supervised teams will exchange insights on the REACH online content, for the continual improvement of the project. DESY is also looking forward to supporting deep-tech teams from Münster by connecting them to relevant research groups and research infrastructures on the DESY campus in Hamburg.

The REACH-EUREGIO Start-up Center (REACH) is a joint project of University of Münster, FH Münster, University of Twente, and Digital Hub münsterLAND. The project focuses on providing knowledge-based start-up support in the German-Dutch border area. Together with its DESY equivalent Startup Port (previously beyourpilot), their primary aim is to support knowledge-and-technology based start-ups.
