This workshop will focus on the central role of particle accelerators in the innovative development of functional materials through cutting-edge analytical methods and industrial applications. Organised by the Helmholtz Innovation Platforms Hi-Acts and SolarTAP, it offers participants the opportunity to exchange ideas with leading experts, gain insights into accelerator-based methods and take part in a guided tour of the BESSY synchrotron facility.

The Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) is one of the world's leading research centres for accelerator technologies. In addition to scientists from all over the world, industrial partners also benefit from the unique infrastructure: state-of-the-art X-ray sources, specialised laboratories and highly developed workshops are available for innovative measurement orders and research and development projects. In the opening event of the new DESY Innovation Insights series, Dr Nadja Kölpin, Industry Relations Manager at DESY, will explain how the research centre's brilliant X-ray light played a key role during the coronavirus pandemic - and how companies can gain access to this technology.
